About

Dr. Hilli Dagony-Clark with a warm smile

Am I the Right Therapist for You?

I facilitate insight, growth, and lasting change in every treatment.

My specialties are adult psychotherapy, adult psychoanalysis, child psychotherapy, child psychoanalysis, adolescent psychotherapy, and adolescent psychoanalysis.

I also work with parents through parental consults. And I am fully qualified and experienced as a supervisor for psychologists in training and any therapists looking for a consultation.

I am fluent in English and Hebrew, and can conduct sessions in either language.

I work with a wide range of mental health issues including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, trauma, and eating disorders.

Some of my areas of interest and specialty are gender identity issues, work inhibitions, marital and family, racial and ethnic diversity, developmental life span issues (e.g. young adult, midlife, relationship issues, parenthood), and grief and loss.

I have worked as a psychologist (since 2006) and psychoanalyst (since 2010), treating hundreds of children, adolescents, teens, and adults on issues including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, body image issues, trauma, relationship, identity, and work difficulties.

My therapy draws on deep understanding of, and experience in, a broad range of therapeutic theories and techniques across the spectrums of race, color, gender identity or expression, religion, sexual orientation, age, and national origin.

Additional experience in community mental health clinics, hospitals, group homes, and the Washington, D.C. Superior Courts have prepared me to offer psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis to a diverse multiethnic and international population.

My doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The George Washington University, and my pre- and postdoctoral work at the Karen Horney Clinic and other urban clinics, have exposed me to a broad range of psychological practices.

My postdoctoral training in child and adult psychoanalysis at the New York Psychoanalytic Institute (NYPSI) enriched my understanding of the complexity of the mind. This classical analytic training has provided me with deep insight into my clients’ symptoms and conflicts.

I work 100% virtually. All visits for psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, parental consults, and supervision are conducted via a video conferencing platform that is HIPAA-compliant, reliable, and secure.

I bill monthly and expect payment within two weeks. I accept Zelle payments, paper checks, and all major credit cards.

I do not accept insurance. Many health insurance companies provide out-of-network  benefits for psychology or psychoanalysis. You should check with your insurance to see whether they can reimburse you for part or all of my fees. If you use your insurance, you will be responsible for filling out their forms and submitting for reimbursement. My invoice includes all necessary information to submit for reimbursement.
